    Taste the modern interpretation of great european patisserie traditions , art and culture, right here in Perth, Western Australia. Born out of a love affair with the art of patisserie, and in constant and passionate pursuit of the ultimate taste and artistic expression, Bites by D cafe/patisserie in Mt Hawthorn promises a fresh, delightful and memorable taste experience.

    Expect the refined taste and palette of traditional patisserie classics, together with our modern reinterpretations. Whether you want to relive the taste experience of your first macaron, English high tea set or looking to explore new taste sensations from our ever changing menu, we promise you will leave with your cravings satisfied. 

    We craft our pastries using only the finest premium ingredients and freshest produce, all expertly crafted  to our own recipes and finished to our artistic standards. We produce most of the pastries in our cafe/patisserie the very same day they are consumed to deliver the freshest bouquet and intensity of flavour. 

    What better way to fully explore and sample the wide selection of flavours on offer than through a high tea experience. We have built a luxurious modern dining setting to immerse yourself into the high tea culture. Escape the ordinary with a treat of the senses, the taste, the opulent surrounds and lavish silverware, backed with impeccable service to let you fully indulge, socialise, celebrate and reflect on the finer things in life. 

    Sometimes the most rewarding moments in life are the most impulsive. We understand this desire and have also created a more casual and accessible cafe space to service the most impulsive cravings. Unlike the pre booking requirement for high tea, our cafe is ever ready to welcome and serve you at last minute's notice. We also have a complementary selection of gourmet savoury items on the menu, suitable for a light snack to a full meal.

    Proud as we are of our cafe/patisserie, we have never forgotten our roots. A significant part of our business today is still dedicated to event catering and custom cake and dessert creations.     Cafe/Patisserie

    Come visit our cafe/patisserie and enjoy our selection of dessert pastries and gourmet lunch options made fresh daily to satisfy your gastronomic cravings. We are ready to welcome you 6 days a week from Tuesday to Sunday. Reservations are not necessary. 

    High Tea

    Experience and share the decadence of high tea in our luxurious setting. Our high teas service run from Thursdays to Sundays and cater for a morning tea session and an afternoon session. Bookings are essential.

    Our Story

    Bites by D is a family owned business with a long history across the food industry both in Australia and Europe. 

    The team at Bites by D have adopted a no compromise, no short cuts approach to ensure an exciting and unique range of flavoursome bite sized desserts and savouries. 

    The inspiration from the owner Diana Beeck to create something unique came from a long love of baking, frustration at the lack of variety and quality of desserts in Perth and a recent European family holiday, which highlighted this gap even further.

    A friendly push by friends and a special mentor Patrick Vuaillat from Sweet Artist Academy finally convinced Diana that she had that special talent/eye for flavour that would be required to turn her passion into a business.

    Drawing on various experiences touring many of Paris’s famous patisseries the décor was carefully and skillfully designed to capture some of those memories and experiences, but with a modern Australian twist.

    So now with a highly skillfull team in support, these amazing culinary creations can be experienced in the modern and relaxed surroundings of the café/patisserie, the intimate and opulent High Tea space or via a customised catering package for your private or corporate function.
